Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Thanks for taking the time to visit our website and for your interest in our campaign. It has been my privilege to serve as your current Vice Mayor and Alderman for the City of Germantown for the past 4 years. We have accomplished a great deal, yet there is more work to be done!
I am seeking re-election in 2016 for another 4 years of service, and I would like to ask for your support.
Over the past several years, I have supported many initiatives which have helped move Germantown forward as a City while continuing to honor the traditions and heritage of our past. A few of these accomplishments include:
Public Safety: I worked with our Fire Department to establish our City’s new Ambulance service. We reduced response times and increased the level of care. I worked with our Police Department to establish a new precinct in the City’s central commercial district. We added 7 new officers on the streets, further protecting our residents.
Economic Development: I worked with our Economic Development Department to attract retail and office developments in all areas of the City. We now have a newly renovated Saddle Creek Shopping Center, the new Whole Foods Market, the future Trader Joes Grocery, Sprouts Market, and the new mixed use Thornwood development.
Quality Education: I worked toward a unique partnership with our GMSD School Board to fund long deferred maintenance projects at Farmington Elementary, Dogwood Elementary, Houston Middle and Houston High. We recently broke ground at the new building at Riverdale K-8 to eliminate portable classrooms and accommodate additional growth.
Healthy Germantown: I helped develop and currently co-chair our new Wellness Council/Healthy Germantown initiative. We received a designation from Governor Haslam as a Healthier Tennessee Community, the first City in West Tennessee to do so.
These are only a few of the accomplishments I had in my first term of office. I could not have done it without your help. Thank you! Your support in my last election was critical to my success and I am asking for your continued support.
Local elected officials have an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our constituents. That opportunity comes with great responsibility. I believe the work we have done over the past 4 years has been thoughtful, thorough and has helped Germantown move forward responsibly into the future.
